Handling Charges
Unavoidable charges incurred during the handling of your shipment will be billed at cost. These include but are not limited to waiting time, dry runs, redelivery attempts, and charges levied directly by the airline or ground handler. These charges are outside our control and will be passed through to the customer without markup.
Pickup Rates
Pickup rates quoted through airrate.com follow standard LTL (Less Than Truckload) or FTL (Full Truckload) service levels as applicable. Pickups require sufficient lead time to arrange the appropriate vehicle and service. Same-day and short-notice pickups are not guaranteed under standard service.
Urgent and Out-of-Hours Service
Same-day pickups, weekend collections, and out-of-hours service are classified as Express Service and are subject to additional charges. If you require urgent service, please contact our team directly to confirm availability and applicable rates before booking.
Cargo Requirements for Pickup
Standard pickup rates apply to palletized cargo. Loose or floor-loaded cargo may incur additional handling charges. Please ensure your cargo is properly prepared and accessible at the time of collection. Final chargeable weight is based on the actual and volumetric weight measured at pickup or at the airline terminal and may differ from the estimate provided at the time of quoting.
Final Billing and Chargeable Weight
Final billing is based on the chargeable weight as recorded on the issued Air Waybill (AWB). This may differ from the estimated chargeable weight entered at the time of searching if there are discrepancies between the declared and actual dimensions or weight of the shipment. Any additional charges arising from weight or dimension discrepancies will be billed accordingly.
Accessorial Charges
Additional fees apply for the following services where required:
- Residential pickup: additional charge applies for collections from residential addresses
- Liftgate service: required when the pickup location does not have a loading dock
- Switch HAWB: a charge applies when a House Air Waybill needs to be reissued or amended after the original has been created
- Other accessorial services as applicable depending on the specific requirements of the shipment
These charges will be communicated to you before the service is provided where possible, but some may only be known at the time of execution.
